Chinese Chopsuey Recipe

While several Chinese dishes have been adapted in an Indian style, none is as popular as the Chinese Chopsuey. From children to adults, everyone happens to love this dish, and you can win them over with this Chinese Chopsuey recipe:

Ingredients For Chinese Chopsuey

  • 200 gms boiled noodles
  • 1 tsp soy sauce
  • 4 tbsp corn starch
  • 1 tbsp vinegar
  • 2 tbsp tomato sauce
  • 1 tsp chaat masala
  • 1 tsp Red chili powder
  • 3-4 garlic cloves
  • 3-4 Pak Choy
  • 3-4 stalks of spring onion greens sliced
  • 1 carrot julienne cut
  • 1 yellow bell pepper julienne cut
  • 1 green capsicum julienne cut
  • 1 red bell pepper julienne cut
  • 4 tsp black pepper powder
  • 3-4 spring onion bulbs
  • Salt as per taste
  • Cooking oil for frying

Method

Step 1: Boiled noodles mixture: In a bowl, mix the noodles with 3 tbsp cornflour, ½ tsp each of soy sauce, vinegar, tomato sauce, chaat masala, peppercorns, and 1 tbsp water. Divide the noodles into smaller sections and deep fry till golden.

Step 2: For the sauce: In a pan, sauté sliced garlic until golden after the oil heats up. Follow by tossing in spring onion bulbs, carrots, bell peppers, capsicum and stir fry for few minutes. Put rest of the tomato sauce, vinegar, soy sauce, crushed peppercorns, salt, chaat masala, half a cup of water, pak Choy leaves, and onion greens, and stir well. Pour a mixture of remaining cornflour and water into the pan and red chili powder. Cook them for 2 mins or so, and your delectable Chinese Chopsuey is ready!
