Millions of people across the Globe, begin their day with this hot refreshing drink called – The tea. Almost every Indian home, start their day with this drink. Although the recipe of tea may differ from one region to another, yet the emotion behind chai is universal. It is a drink that brings people together, so how can we not have a day that celebrates this iconic drink; 15th December is celebrated globally as International Tea Day.
This day was included to draw global attention of government authorities on the global tea trade, the workers involved in tea production, and help in providing price supports and fair trade.
So, as we celebrate this day, I thought, let’s explore one of the richest and dominant forms of tea – The Kashmiri Kahwa.
A lot of my Kashmiri friends invite me for a kahwa evening and trust me; there is nothing more energizing than this aromatic tea. It is indeed the best drink to endorse during the chilly winter season. Let’s look at the recipe for this spicy winter drink.
Ingredients Needed To Make Kahwa
- Four teaspoons of green Kashmiri tea powder
- Five cups of water
- Three big cinnamon
- Three green cardamom
- Few strands of saffron
- Two tablespoon sugar
Let’s Make It In 4 Easy Steps
Step 1 Preferably take a copper pan and add water. Once the water is boiled, add cinnamon, cardamom, and saffron. Let it boil and let the aroma get strong.
Step 2 Turn off the heat and let the water rest for 30 seconds.
Step 3 Now add green tea powder and sugar and boil it for a few more seconds.
Step 4 By now, the aroma has encapsulated your senses, so after 30 seconds, strain it and enjoy the nutritious yet tasty drink.
