Make Delicious Punjabi Rajma At Home

Delicious Punjabi Rajma

For making a delicious Punjabi style Rajma curry, you don’t need to be a chef or order it online or go to an expensive restaurant. You can make it yourself at home easily within a short period with our recipe using kidney beans and Indian spices just the way you have eaten in the restaurant or a Punjabis house.

Material Required:

  • Kidney Beans
  • Water
  • Onions
  • Tomatoes
  • Garlic
  • Ginger
  • Coriander Powder
  • Green Chilly
  • Red Chilli powder
  • Turmeric powder etc.

Cooking Method:

1) First, Rinse and soak the kidney beans in the water for a minimum of eight to nine hours or overnight with abundant water that the kidney beans are dipped inside the water completely. This step is most crucial as by soaking kidney beans to get softened, which can be cooked swiftly without using much water and gas.

2) Discard the old water and rinse the kidney beans with fresh water again

3) Place kidney beans in the pressure cooker with more fresh water and cook for 15-20 minutes at medium to high flame.

4) After the kidney beans are adequately cooked strain the kidney beans from the pressure cooker and place it inside

5) Heat oil or butter in the pot and add cumin, onions, ginger-garlic paste and tomatoes, and all type of spices accordingly to your taste in the same order simultaneously. Then stir and sauté the whole solution mixture till the onions become brownish with the fat getting rinsed out of the solution.

6) Add the masala solution with the kidney beans with a pinch of salt in the pressure cooker and simmer the curry until it thickens moderately or as per your need

7) Stir and simmer the kidney beans with the curry for 1-2 minutes on low to medium flame

8) Serve the kidney beans or Rajma Masala in the restaurant-style with basmati rice or jeera rice to get the best taste out of it.

9) You can also show your artistic skills by adding cream and coriander leaves over the curry to make it look as delightful as it tastes.
