Spicy Biryani Easy Technique To Make It At Home

Biryani is such a recipe that everyone wants to eat. Biryani is of many types like Hyderabadi Biryani, Mangalore Biryani, Lucknowi Biryani, and many more. But the biryani that we will know about here is spicy vegetable biryani. It is an aromatic dish made with the basmati rice, herbs, biryani spices, and mix veggies. Traditionally, biryani made by the dum cooking basmati rice, spices, and vegetables. This delicious biryani is layered with the flavorful and fragrant filling. To make the biryani tasty, cook beans, carrot, potatoes, and peas in spicy yogurt gravy with basmati rice. Garnish its top with fried onions and cashews.

Spicy Biryani Recipe

Ingredients To Make Spicy Biryani:

  • Basmati rice (Soaked for 15 mins to 20 mins) – 1 cup
  • Medium onion (sliced) – 1
  • Green chilly (chopped) – 2
  • Ginger garlic paste- 1 teaspoon
  • Pudina leaves – 2 tablespoon
  • Coriander leaves – 2 tablespoon
  • Red chili powder – ½ teaspoon (adjust according to the taste)
  • Garam masala – 1 teaspoon
  • Water – 1¾ cups
  • Small tomato – 1
  • Oil or ghee – 2 tablespoons
  • Curd – 2 tablespoon
  • Salt – as per your taste
  • Bay lead- 1
  • Anise (Chakri phool) – 1
  • Green cardamoms- 4
  • Cinnamon (dalchini) – 2-inch piece
  • Cloves (laung) – 6
  • Cumin seeds (jeera) – ½ teaspoon
  • Cashews- 10
  • Lemon juice – 1 tablespoon
  • Small potato (cubed chopped) – 1
  • Carrot (chopped) – 1
  • Green peas (mutter) – 1/3 cup
  • Beans (chopped)- ¼ cup

How To Make Spicy Biryani:

  • First, soak the rice for 20 minutes. After that, drain the water and set aside. Chop all the veggies, mint leaves and coriander leaves. Keep all these vegetables aside.
  • Heat water in a pan and add cinnamon, cloves, anise, and cardamom. After the water boils, add the soaked rice to the water and leave it to cook. Cook the rice on low heat for 15 minutes.
  • After boiling the rice, sieve them and wash them with cold water. Now take oil in a pan and cook potatoes, carrots, peas, and beans in it. After the vegetables are cooked, drain the vegetables with oil.
  • Now add cumin, bay leaves, and ginger garlic paste to the remaining oil in the pan. After all, these are cooked, now add green chilies and tomatoes, and cook it. Now mix garam masala and red chili and cook it.
  • Now mix the gravy well by adding curd to it. After the gravy is ready, add the cooked vegetables to it and let it cook for five minutes. Now turn off the gas.
  • It is time to dum the biryani. In a pan, make the layers of rice and cooked vegetables. Add a small amount of ghee in it. Cover the pan with a lid and cook for 10 minutes on low flame.
  • At that time, take oil in a pan and fry cashews and onions in it.
  • After ten minutes, the biryani is ready. Now garnish the biryani with cashew nuts, fried onions, coriander leaves, and mint leaves.
  • You can serve biryani with curd or any vegetable meal.
