Are you missing your favorite momos during the lockdown? Make this fantastic soy paneer momos at home. Both soy and paneer are high in protein. The blockade imposed due to coronavirus fear has almost blocked our daily life, which forces us to stay at home to avoid the spread of the virus. But here you have an amazing recipe of paneer momos to bring the happy taste buds back.
Soy Paneer Momos Recipe
This recipe takes 7-8 momos.
Ingredients
- 1 cup of maida
2.1 cup of soy granules
- 1 cup grated paneer
- One onion, finely
chopped onions
- Half a green pepper,
finely chopped
- Salt and ground
black pepper
- 5-6 cloves of garlic, minced
- Half a teaspoon of grated ginger
Method
Step 1 – Soak the soy granules in water.
Step 2 – Mix the dough with the maida, one teaspoon of
oil, and hot water. Cover and set aside for some time.
Step 3 – Heat the oil in a pan. Add the garlic and sauté
until it releases its raw aroma.
Step 4 – Add the ginger and onion and saute until the
onions turn brown.
Step 5 – Add the soy, bell pepper, salt, and pepper. Let
the vegetables cook.
Step 6 – App grated paneer at the end. Mix well and turn
off the stove.
Step 7 – Now roll small, thin, translucent paper cleared
by the paste. This is your wonton wrapper. Dab a little water on the edges.
Fill them with the soy paneer stuffing and cover adequately.
Step 8 – Grease tables of idli molds with a little oil.
Place the momos on idli molds and stems, as you do with regular momos or idlis
steam. Please note that momos take less time than steam idlis.
Cooking:
Momos are steamed, so you will need a steamer (there are two types: bamboo or steel. We bought them in any “Asia store”). If you have a bamboo steamer, arrange lettuce leaves or any other large-leaf salad on the base and arrange the momos on top. If you have the steel one, brush each momo with a little oil so that it does not stick. Close the steamer’s lid had brought the water in the pan below to a boil and let the ravioli cook for 10 minutes.
Pair these unique, creamy, high protein spicy momos with
momo chutney. Enjoy!
Conclusion
Momos are all about the fillings. These filings are filled with Chinese flavors from soy sauce and vinegar. These soy paneer momos give a creamy twist to regular momos with a cottage cheese filling (paneer). Ground soy nibbles or granulated soy adds density and a nutty flavor to the momos. Both foods are super rich in protein, so you don’t bother feeding your family with it. Although this lockdown momos recipe uses wonton wrappers made from flour, you can substitute it with wheat flour to make the healthiest momos.
